July 13th, during the CEPA Workshop as part of the 2009 Chongqing.Hong Kong Week, Chongqing and Hong Kong announced intentions to work together for a modern logistics centre along the upper reaches of the Yangtse River, so as to develop bonded and comprehensive waterway-railway-air transport, bring bonded logistics services into full play, and finally stimulate CEPA cooperation.

Director of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, Li Jianchun, said that now the advantage for Chongqing logistics industry lay in its waterway transport.

Chongqing-Lanzhou Railway is being constructed with Chongqing as the starting point of the Euro-Asia Continent Railway Bridge.

On the other hand, Chongqing is actively promoting modern logistics including transport, storage and cargo handling, with particular focus on logistics cooperation with Hong Kong.
