Taiwanese operator's new service replaces China-Middle East service.
 
    Taiwanese ocean carrier T.S. Lines launched a container service earlier this month that connects the Port of Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), India and the Persian Gulf.

    The new service, called the India-Middle East Express, replaces the China-Middle East Service the Taipei-based carrier earlier operated from Nhava Sheva to ports in China, the Far East, Southeast Asia and the Arabian Gulf. The IMX rotation is: Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Mundra and Nhava Sheva.

    “We will operate the service with maximum weekly capacity of 2,500 20-foot equivalent units and a service speed of 17 knots, thereby offering a fast, consistent and stable level of service which will be of immense value to exporters and importers on either side of the Arabian Sea,” T.S. Lines said. Nhava Sheva is India’s largest container port, handling about 60 percent of the country’s total containerized export and import cargo.

    T.S. Lines, which is registered in Hong Kong, currently has a fleet of 43 vessels with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 3,500 TEUs that operate primarily in the intra-Asia, Indian subcontinent and Middle East trade lanes.
