With an aim of gathering together relevant government departments, international port & shipping enterprises and institutions, shipping information and technology research institutes and shipping information product developers to demonstrate jointly any achievements in international port & shipping informationization, exchange experiences, and explore development paths for port & shipping informationization and shipping information industry, the “1st International Port & Shipping Informationization Forum” will soon be held on Sept. 2, 2011 (Friday) at Shanghai North Bund. Approximately 150 elites, experts and scholars in port, shipping, and logistics information & technology sectors from Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and overseas will participate in the Forum.

organized by SISI, co-organized by China Shipping (Group) Company and Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), and operated by SISI Shipping Information Technology Institute, and SMU College of Information Engineering, the Forum will invite leaders from the Ministry of Transport, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and other pertinent government departments to analyze the status quo, development direction and plan for China’s port and shipping informatization. The Forum will be further attended by person in charge of informatization from domestic and overseas large-scale port and shipping enterprises and related industry professionals, to exchange achievements and experiences in promoting the informatization drive. The Forum will surely enlighten China’s enterprises and governments on port and shipping informatization development during the period of the 12th Five-year Plan.
