From May 19 to 20, 2011, the “Forum on China’s Port Development during the 12th Five-year Period” was held by the Institute for Comprehensive Transportation under National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing. Upwards of 100 people from China’s port industry attended the Forum. SISI Secretary-General Zhen Hong was invited to deliver a speech entitled “Development Mode and Basic Characteristics of the Fourth-generation Ports”. At the Forum, relevant government departments introduced the development strategies for China’s transport and port industry during the 12th Five-year Period, while some experts reported relevant issues about China’s port development during the same period.
