Northeast Asia Logistics Information Service Network set up in Hangzhou

Vice-Ministers of Transport and Logistics from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Co-operative Mechanism of Northeast Asia Logistics Information Service Network (NEAL-NET) in Hangzhou, followed by a unveiling ceremony, reports Xinhua.
In order to advance regional co-operation the Ministers of Transport from China, Japan, Korea, referred to as the Three Parties, agreed to establish a co-operative mechanism known as NEAL-NET. Its aim is to improve the logistics service capacity and efficiency of Northeast Asia, facilitate logistics information exchange and sharing, and promote regional economic, transport service and trade development.
NEAL-NET will be run as a transnational, non-profit co-operative mechanism for logistics information exchange, sharing and technological co-operation, with the main objective of improving the overall logistics information of Northeast Asia by creating interconnection platform and unified basic exchange standard.
Each country's information systems will be connected through planning and design co-operation. The Three Parties will encourage logistics enterprises to undertake or participate in projects such as interconnection of information systems, exchange and sharing of logistics information.
NEAL-NET operates under the Mechanism of China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Conference on Transport and Logistics. Its institutional organisation consists of Joint Steering Committee, Council, Secretariat and NEAL-NET Members.
